On May 7, 2023, at 1:05 A.M., the Santa Ana Police Department received multiple callsregarding a pedestrian down in traffic lanes at 500 North Harbor Boulevard. Officers from the Santa Ana Police Department responded to the scene, where they located the pedestrian in the roadway. Orange County Fire Authority also responded to the scene and declared the pedestrian deceased.
 
Based upon the preliminary investigation, it is believed the pedestrian was crossing Harbor Blvd. when a vehicle traveling south on Harbor Blvd. collided with the pedestrian. The vehicle involved in this collision remained at the scene, and the driver cooperated. Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in this collision. However, the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
 
The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigations Unit (CIU) is handling the investigation. Anyone possibly having information about this collision is asked to contact Ofc. K. Catlin at (714) 245-8224 or the Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division at (714) 245- 8200.
