SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 27, 2024) — Police Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation regarding the death of a 32-year-old man, according to the SAPD.
On Monday, August 26, 2024, at approximately 3:42 p.m., Santa Ana Police officers responded to the area of 800 S. Townsend Street, just east of Monte Vista Elementary School, following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, the officers located a 32-year-old male, identified as Erick Alegria of Santa Ana, who was unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
Orange County Fire Authority arrived on scene and rendered medical aid. Despite lifesaving measures, Erick succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
Homicide Detectives are attempting to identify and locate additional witnesses who can provide information about the homicide.
