The OCFA’s emergency command center received a call for a water rescue in the area of Coyote Creek and Cerritos Ave., in Los Alamitos, shortly after 10:00 AM.

Resources from the Long Beach Fire Department and the Orange County Fire Authority, including their swift water rescue teams and helicopter responded.

The firefighters found an adult male unknown age in the water. They were able to extract the body and determine the victim was deceased.

The victim’s identity was not released and he was only described as an adult male.

Firefighters searched the rest of the creek and determined there was nobody else involved.

The incident is being investigated by the Los Alamitos Police Department.
