On Monday, April 24, 2023, at approximately 5:34 A.M., the Santa Ana Police Department received multiple calls regarding a pedestrian down in traffic lanes at 2700 North Main Street.

Officers from the Santa Ana Police Department responded to the scene, where they located the pedestrian in the roadway. Orange County Fire Authority also responded to the scene and declared the pedestrian deceased.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the pedestrian was walking from west to east, crossing Main Street. The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Main Street.

The vehicle involved in this collision fled from the scene before the officers arrived. It remains outstanding, and it, along with the driver, remains unidentified.

The vehicle is described as a white 2016-2018 Kia Optima four-door sedan. Additionally, it is unknown if alcohol is a factor in this collision. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
