Shortly after midnight, police officers responded to a report of a car stuck in a ditch, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle stranded in a grassy lot.

Following a comprehensive field sobriety test, the driver was arrested for DUI.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, but things could’ve been much worse.

The HBPD reminds us that driving impaired is a real threat to our community and is 100% preventable. Even minimal amounts of alcohol, medication, or other substances can drastically compromise your driving capabilities. Please, don’t drive impaired. Appoint a designated driver or utilize ride-sharing services when you plan on drinking or engaging in other activities that could impair your ability to drive safely.
