OCFA firefighters swiftly contained a potentially devastating fire in an industrial strip center in Westminster, on Saturday afternoon, protecting millions in property.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 2:50 p.m. on Saturday at the 15000 block of West State Street.

The fire quickly grew from one alarm to three due to the volume of the flames. The quick call for additional resources, in combination with sound strategy and tactics contained the fire to the initial unit.

Damage was estimated at $1 million to the structure and $500K to the contents.

Thankfully, all occupants were safe. However an OCFA firefighter was injured while fighting the fire and was treated at the scene. He was taken to a hospital for an undisclosed “medical condition.” His condition as of Monday is not known.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
