Do you remember Matthew Jacob Granados, the 22-year-old Santa Ana man who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of a teenage boy and was sentenced to nearly a year in jail, or time already served behind bars, and five years of formal probation?

Well Granados has only a few months out of jail for involuntary manslaughter, but he is already in trouble again, this time for a conflict with the SAPD two years ago and for allegedly attacking a stranger with a baseball bat last month, according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading→

Santa Ana man sentenced to a year in jail after accidentally shooting and killing a teen

Matthew Jacob Granados, a 22-year-old Santa Ana man, copped a plea on Friday to involuntary manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of 16-year-old Alex Adrian Ramirez and was sentenced to nearly a year in jail, or time already served behind bars, and five years of formal probation, according to the O.C. Register.

The plea deal got Granados off the hook for a sentencing enhancement for being armed with a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to the OCDA’s office. Continue reading→

MAN CHARGED WITH INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER AFTER TEEN WAS SHOT IN DEFENDANT’S HOME

*Defendant’s father was arraigned for making misleading statements to the police after the fact

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A man was charged today with involuntary manslaughter after a teen was shot in the defendant’s home. Matthew Jacob Granados, 21, Santa Ana, is charged with one felony count of involuntary manslaughter by a lawful act in an unlawful manner with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a firearm. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 14 years in state prison. He is being held on $75,000 bail and is scheduled for a continued arraignment on Sept. 30, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana. Continue reading→

Advisory: SAPD Officers Arrest Carjacking Suspect – Detectives Believe There May Be Additional Unreported Victims

Arrested: Matthew Jacob Granados (20) Santa Ana Location: 1600 North Susan

Charges: CPC 215 Carjacking, CPC 245 Assault with a Deadly Weapon, CPC 211 Robbery

Summary: Fri, 8/7/15 7:05 am Officers responded to a reported armed carjacking in the 1600 block of North Susan. The victim was asleep in his 1997 black Honda CRV, when he was confronted by a suspect wearing a black hoodie and a black mask. The suspect was on a blue beach cruiser bicycle. The suspect was holding a black handgun and ordered the victim out of his vehicle. The suspect demanded the victim’s cellular phone and vehicle keys. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene.

The victim followed the suspect, who returned to the victim’s vehicle, placed his bicycle on the vehicle hood and drove away eastbound on 17th Street. At approximately 0830 hours, SAPD officers located the victim’s vehicle unoccupied at 4317 W. 1st Street. Officers conducted a surveillance of the vehicle. Continue reading→
