Advisory: SAPD Homicide Detectives Investigating Shooting Death – Victim Identified

Victim: Angel Quintero, 41, of Garden Grove

On 3/27/16, at 21:36 hours, officers responded to a call of a shooting with a male down at Edna Park, located at 2140 W. Edna. When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim, a 41 year old male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Upon the arrival of medics, the victim was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene. The initial investigation revealed the victim was on the riverbed bike trail adjacent to the park, when he came into contact with two male suspects. A physical altercation ensued at which point the victim was shot. Both suspects were seen fleeing the area.
