Two suspects stole over $600 of Nicorette gum from the Target store at the Spectrum. As they left the store, one of the men shoved an employee who confronted them.

The Irvine Police Department’s Directed Enforcement Team quickly located both men and their vehicle nearby. Narcotics and more stolen property were found in their car.

Officers determined the property in the car had been stolen from the same store the day before by one of the men. The combined loss to the store was estimated to be $981. Stealing fake eyelashes was a surprise to the police officers!

Wesley Nicholas Cook, 22, of Menifee, and George Hernandez, 47, of Riverside, were arrested and booked on robbery and conspiracy charges.

If you plan to do some last-minute Christmas stealing, Irvine isn’t your mall. We have extra officers working in unmarked and marked cars protecting our retail centers and community.
