Apparently the Orange County Democratic Party Central Committee endorsed the following Santa Ana candidates yesterday:

  • Loretta Sanchez for United States Congress (Re-Elect)
  • Councilman David Benavides for Mayor
  • Eric Alderete for City Council
  • Valerie Amezcua and Myriam Tinajero for the Santa Ana Unified School Board
  • Jose Solorio, Nelida Yanez and Mark McLoughlin for the Rancho Santiago Community College District’s Board of Education

“Pulido had withdrawn his request for an endorsement shortly before the meeting, so the tally overwhelmingly favored Benavides. Thirty-four voted to back Benavides, while only three voted against it,” according to the Voice of OC.

Benavides may have gotten this endorsement but he is not raising any money or campaigning at all.  Strange.

  1. This is all going to blow up on the DPOC guys, when David is exposed.

It will not only be embarrassing, he will look stupid for moving forward.

As much as the OCDEMS may hate Pulido, are they really ready for a fundemental Christan who takes orders from a new age pastor?

    Me thinks not.

  2. Good News Supporters!

the Liberal OC is concentrating on some photo scandal in Tustin.

They are completely ignorant to the rumor I had a LONG STANDING affair with a twenty year old Co-Worker, who was impregnated and ABORTED the baby!

These rumores (en espanol) ruined my marriage, but will not stop me from becoming MAYOR!

As long as Dan and Greg and the union influences support me, I can flush out another dozen fetuses, It may piss of my EX, but, Pastor Dave says: GET THE POWER DAVID and God will forvive you.

    GO TEAM BENAVIDES!

  3. The majority council supports Benavidez. When Alderete and Reyna get elected the majority will be 6. Decisions will be amongst them and not involve a new age pastor. If a new age pastor was involved I do not believe the majority council would be supportive of Benavidez.

No exposure forthcoming. What you are referring to is the strategy of “throw enough lies and some will stick” . This strategy is placed in effect strategically during the last few days of the campaign to limit a response . So……. no exposure just a lot of rumors, insinuations and notions on the way.

No haters. Pulido has been supported by the DPOC till last night. The reason for no support now is that they see the power shift. Pulido has never been a good Democrat but received their support because he had the majority council.

  4. Dr. Lomeli,

Mr. Benavides, MUST ANSWER these questions:

    – Did you impregnate a 20 year old women, afer a months long affair? Did she have an abortion? If yes, whose choice was this?

    – What is your stance as a Christan and a Democrat on ABORTION?

    – How do you justify campaigning on your record of helping children when you have abandonded your own son, because of your infadelity?

    I WOULD ADD:

    – Mrs. Benavides, you are a teacher of young Latino men, at a vulnerable age, what can you tell them, based on your experience?

-Mrs. Benavides, you are a teacher of young Latina women, what advice can you give them based on your experience?

I would WELCOME, as would Santa Ana an answer to these questions. But you will continue to deflect, deny, and LIE in order to defend David.

He needs to address his infidelity, his LIES, his hypocrisy and MAYBE, he will be a viable canidate.

His advisors are dead wrong by having him avoid the DEVIL in his closet.

  5. Carpetbagger,

“They are completely ignorant to the rumor I had a LONG STANDING affair with a twenty year old Co-Worker, who was impregnated and ABORTED the baby!”

Again a rumor carpetbagger???????? What kind of a person spreads rumors irresponsibly with the objective to produce pain and suffering to fellow humans. Political campaign strategy?????

Why would voters be interested in supporting this type of campaign and it’s candidate.

    dictionary definition:

A rumor or rumour (spelling differs between American and British English) is often viewed as “an unverified account or explanation of events circulating from person to person and pertaining to an object, event, or issue in public concern” (33)[1] However, a review of the research on rumor conducted by Pendleton in 1998 found that research across sociology, psychology, and communication studies had widely varying definitions of rumor.[2]
Thus, rumor is a concept that lacks a particular definition in the social sciences. But most theories agree that rumor involves some kind of a statement whose veracity is not quickly or ever confirmed. In addition, some scholars have identified rumor as a subset of propaganda, the latter another notoriously difficult concept to define. A pioneer of propaganda studies, Harold Lasswell defined propaganda in 1927 as referring “solely to the control of opinion by significant symbols, or, to speak more concretely and less accurately, by stories, rumors, reports, pictures, and other forms of social communication” (1927:9).[3]
Rumors are also often discussed with regard to “misinformation” and “disinformation” (the former often seen as simply false and the latter seen as deliberately false, though usually from a government source given to the media or a foreign government).[4] Rumors thus have often been viewed as particular forms of other communication concepts.

  6. Is Benavides’s involvement with Newsong and the sale of the Santora also a “rumor?” So he didn’t go on camera asking his congregation to approve the purchase of the Santora. That is complete nonsense on his part. The Artists Village was built around the Santora and he nearly had a hand in rupturing the nature of the area. Careless. I won’t have close calls like that and I am not fooled.

  7. “new age pastor”…… Hmmmmmm

Are these pastors also known for a child (boy) molestation and rape or is such sodomy reserved for the catholic priests only?

  8. Omar,

Not a rumor. Video you say shows Benavidez asking for congregation approval.

Did Pulido appose the sale of the Santora to the church? Does Mike Harrah not have a close relationship with ?

Was the proposed sale to the church not a council issue and not reliant on Benavidez to make a decision for the Mayor and council?

    1. That issue became a council issue when the Mayor was forced to comment or act on it. Don’t you know about the ad hoc committee that Pulido appointed to oversee and study the case?

The message that Pulido sent to Benavides by appointing an ad hoc committee was, You created this mess, you fix it.

A mess was precisely what Benavides made in his attempt to convince Newsong to buy the Santora. He initiated it, not the council.

  9. “Orange County Democratic Party Central Committee endorsed Councilman David Benavides for Mayor”

Seems that the rumor mills and the mudslingers just can’t get a foothold, I see this as a total rejection of the slanderous unproven rumors by the Central Committee of the Democratic Party. (The insiders who would know)

  10. My last paragraph doesn’t sound correct. Here it is rewriten.

Central Committee of the Democratic Party has rejected the unfounded rumors, by endorsing Councilman David Benavides for Mayor.

  11. “Remember, these are the same clowns who endorsed Umberg and Daly.”

You think Miguel pulled request for their support because he also considers them clowns and irrelevant even though he asked for their endorsement for 18 years.

Umberg and Daly are also supported by Miguel publically or not.

Barbaro tried to make a deal for as you say ” these clowns” to support Pulido ….he failed

  12. You referring to the victory fund IE controlled by Barbaro who is Pulido’s long time private attorney and chairman of the OC Dem committee.

This IE is independent of the OC Democratic committee ? And / or you saying Benavidez was endorsed but will not be offered any kind of financial assistance by the OC Dem. committee?

  13. Umberg and Daly,

Now there are a couple of upstanding family men.

I doubt that the Central committee (as I know them) have any idea what a scumbag this guy is.

But, don’t worry. I spoke to his (ex)wife today.

TRUST ME. There is now rumor or inuendo here.

  14. Carpetbagger delusional. Daly ” a real family man” .

Spoke to the ex wife????? Good so don’t vote for Benavidez.

69th A.D. candidate Tom Daly accused of sexual harassment
Posted by Editor on August 26th, 2012

On July 10 of this year I posted an article on this blog entitled “Shouldn’t Daly be investigated for Bustamante-like behavior.”  Today it hit the fan for Daly, as “County officials are moving to hire a law firm to check into a host of sexual harassment and corruption allegations against County Clerk-Recorder Tom Daly, who is currently the frontrunner to become Orange County’s next State Assemblyman for the 69th District,” according to the Voice of OC.

The letter alleges that Daly has handed out promotions and engaged in inappropriate behavior with at least four female workers at the Clerk Recorders’ Office, which it refers to as “ Tommy’s Girls or Tommy’s Angels.”

  15. I heard that David is a shoe in to get the Planned Parenthood endorsement.

    Hmmmm…I wonder why?

  16. what exactly goes into a macho combo burrito? sour cream, beans and cheese do not go well with sex. No bueno.

  17. Sorry carpetbagger I forget you are smart those of us that support benavides are stupid LOL.

Sorry I am a little thick what is your point again? You want all rumored of infidelity out of public office?

  18. Not that I know. Every candidate is running their own campaigns. They will canvas the community collectively.

  19. No Al did not run the meeting, did your source tell you I was at this meting. If so then I can verify this for you. If I was not at this meeting then I can’t .

  20. The “Santa Ana Spring” aka “the revolution” is just a rebranded version of Al Amezcua’s failed campaign. The players in the forefront may have changed but the same clowns are working behind the scenes.

    1. Mr. Lomeli you ain’t gotta lie to kick it. Everyone knows Amezcua is El Gerente de los Payasos.

      El Gerente de los Payasos

    1. Cruz I love Bozo and Ronald McDonald too. Doesn’t mean I want them running Santa Ana. Amezcua’s a baboso! Just ask his clients.

  21. Barking up the wrong tree. Your problem is the majority council. Amezcua has nothing to do here.

You actually believe the majority council, and other candidates would agree to have Amezcua run their campaigns???????? You are smoking bad herb.

    1. “The Revolution” is about weakening Pulido in the eyes of the voters so that come next election a vulture like Amezcua can swoop in and take over. Nobody really wants Benavides to win, it’s a smokescreen. The clowns want us to think it’s about winning but it’s not.

Amezcua and company just want to weaken Pulido and take the candidates money to help Valerie, el payaso enojado dama, get elected to the school board.

I got my herb from one of Al’s clients, no wonder it’s bad.

  22. You have it all wrong. Pulido is weakened now because the majority council is independent of Pulido. Pulido does not control the majority …..4 votes necessary to conduct city business.

When Alderete and Reyna get elected the majority will be 6 to 1 if Pulido wins. Will be irrelevant only able to do mayor honorary functions.

The majority council has already won…..they have the united 4 votes now. Not controlled by Pulido. His power has been able to gather/ control 4 votes. The power shift is now to the Pulido independent council majority.

Has nothing to do with Amezcua. If you do not understand this others do.

    1. As soon as the election is over Benavides and Reyna will run back groveling to Pulido. That gives him 3 votes. All he needs is one more to be back in charge.

  23. If Benavides looses to Pulido makes no difference in the majority.. He is in the majority now will be in the Pulido independent majority then. No need to rouen to Pulido.

The power is not in the mayor’s office it is in the control of the 4 votes. United the majority council has it.

    1. Not really Cruz. You need four votes to control the Council. Pulido doesn’t have them now. But give him time. After these clowns have spent themselves they will come crawling back.

I would be happy by the way to support a decent candidate for Mayor. Amezcua wasn’t a decent candidate and neither is Benavides.

  24. Maybe Ms. Yanez should pay back the money she has stolen from the California’s public schools before she decides to run for a seat. Shame on her.

  25. Clearly David Benavides, and his advisors have read this blog.

So the question NOW is, why not defend these “rumors”?

    BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT RUMORS.

David is a whoremonger. He is a liar and an cheating husband.

The “advisors” who tell hime this won’t go past this local blog are idiots. The OCR and the VOC are already on to his affairs.

He will go the way of every other lying politico.

A part of me hopes he wins, so I can watch everyone EAT him up. He is doomed. A JESUSFREAK who bails on his wife and kid(s) but posts about his “family dog”.

Hopefully, for Pablo (his REAL NAME) the OCEA has $250K to drop on ad’s. Theres a fighting chance and some work for some press operators in south Santa Ana…….Oh what, he helped the go digital so instead of 6 guys working theres 1. Thanks David! LOSER
