The Westminster Police Department has received information that scammers identifying themselves as Westminster Police officers are calling, messaging, and emailing victims that they have an arrest warrant or citation that needs immediate attention. They are told that they must pay the fees at once. Please note that these impersonating scammers are using the names of real WPD officers.

The Westminster Police Department or any law enforcement agency will NEVER ask you for any payment. If anyone contacts you and asks you to send money (wire transfers, pre-paid cards, etc.) over the phone or email to pay a fine or make the warrant disappear, it’s a scam.

Also, note that you should NEVER give your bank account, credit card, or personal information to anyone you do not trust.

If you receive a call like this please report it to our non-emergency line at (714) 548-3212.
