It’s time for the SAPD’s weekly gun seizure and dumb gangbanger arrest update!
SAPD gang detectives were conducting a patrol check in the area of 400 W. 17th St. when they observed several documented gangbangers loitering in the parking lot. The gangbangers were actively trying to lose more of their few remaining brain cells by consuming nitrous oxide.
Fortunately the gangbangers were detained by the police officers and to add to their misfortune the detectives recovered a loaded firearm in their vehicle. The owner of that vehicle was rewarded by being arrested. He was subsequently arrested and booked at the Santa Ana Jail on firearm-related charges with gang enhancements.
Nitrous Oxide is (N2O; laughing gas) is clinically used as a safe anesthetic (dentistry, ambulance, childbirth) and appreciated for its anti-anxiety effect, according to the National Library of Medicine. Using it recreationally is a bad idea given these side effects:
- transient dizziness
- dissociation
- disorientation
- loss of balance
- impaired memory and cognition
- and weakness in the legs
When intoxicated accidents like tripping and falling may occur. Some fatal accidents have been reported due to due to asphyxia (hypoxia). Heavy or sustained use of N2O inactivates vitamin B12, resulting in a functional vitamin B12 deficiency and initially causing numbness in fingers, which may further progress to peripheral neuropathy and megaloblastic anemia.
SAPD police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 2545 W. Camden Place. During a search of the vehicle the police officers found a loaded firearm, narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Two suspects were arrested on firearm and narcotics charges and booked at the Santa Ana Jail.
SAPD patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 400 E. Civic Center. The vehicle was loaded with five subjects, “clown car” style, and one of them was a juvenile. During the search of the vehicle the officers found of the passengers had a loaded “ghost gun” tucked in the waistband of his baggy pants. All five suspects were arrested on firearm violations and booked at the Santa Ana Jail except for the juvenile who was booked at the Orange County Juvenile Hall.
SAPD homicide detectives, with the assistance of the Gang Suppression unit, authored and served a search warrant of a residence pursuant to a recent assault with a deadly weapon investigation.
During the search a suspect was detained and the detectives seized a bonanza of six weapons including semi-automatic handguns and rifles. They also recovered powder components that, when combined, can serve as explosive targets used for firearm practice inside the residence.
The suspect was booked at the Santa Ana Jail on various felony violations.
All of these arrested suspects will have to waste their Christmas money on lawyers and bail bonds.
