Last week, Irvine police officers contacted a man sleeping in his rental car at the Park and Ride parking lot near Walnut and Jeffrey, according to the Irvine Police Department.

A dusting of what appeared to be meth was sprinkled on his shirt. He had a grab bag of unique items in his car, which included an electronic saw, a glass break tool, a ski mask, bolt cutters, and a signal jammer. The police officers quickly confirmed the man was not a “MacGyver.”

The man was arrested and booked at the Irvine Police Department for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

However since the police could not tie the 44-year-old man from Los Angeles to a crime, due to a lack of evidence and witnesses, he had to be released on a citation.
