Garden Grove – OCFA firefighters quickly responded to the 11000 block of Cobblestone Dr. in Garden Grove for a fire in a home at 5:22 this morning.
OCFA fire truck 81 found heavy smoke coming from a garage in a multifamily dwelling that was threatening adjacent units.
The firefighters initiated an attack of the fire that had begun to extend into the home, and conducted a search for residents – four adults had evacuated but sadly their cat did not.
Due to a coordinated attack, the fire crews were able to prevent the fire from extending to the neighboring homes.
OCFA fire investigators are on scene – a cause has not been determined yet.
The Red Cross has been requested to assist.
