Quoc Viet Foods bestowed Small Business Award for 2013

By: State Senator Lou Correa

(Sacramento, CA)–Senator Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana) announced that Tuan and Theresa Nguyen, founders of Quoc Viet Foods from the City of Orange were awarded the Small Business of the Year for 2013 during the Small Business Association annual award ceremony held in Sacramento.

“The Nguyen’s have developed their successful business through a strong connection to the local community, personal sacrifice and the ability to consistently deliver quality products,” said Correa. “For over a decade, despite a challenging business climate, the Nguyens and Quoc Viet Foods have contributed to the local and state economy and shared their successes by giving back to the community through their continued support of numerous local non-profits and neighborhood activities,” added Correa.

Founded in 2002, Quoc Viet Foods specializes in Vietnamese soup bases and seasonings. Quoc Viet Foods are the first company to use modern technologies to convert the traditional Vietnamese products into a convenient form for consumers.

Small Business awards are presented during the Association’s annual conference, which was held June 10th, to individuals/organizations who have exhibited outstanding achievement in the field of entrepreneurship, and demonstrated strong support and advocacy of entrepreneurial advancement.

With small businesses comprising 99.2% of all employer firms in California and accounting for more than 50% of California’s new job creation, small business issues are at the forefront of California’s legislative agenda.

“Without healthy and vibrant small businesses creating jobs the state’s economic recovery efforts will be futile. It is imperative that the legislature does everything in its power to create tax, regulatory and economic environments that will serve as facilitators in small business growth,” further commented Correa.

The Small Business of the Year awards are hosted by the California Small Business Association which is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit, non-partisan organization that advocates for the views of small business to government officials.
