On Black Friday, a man tried to create his own deals by stealing $1,700 worth of merchandise from Best Buy, in Irvine. Employees followed him as he walked out of the store with the stolen merchandise, and he took off running.

The Irvine Police Department’s Directed Enforcement Team officers caught up with him after a short foot pursuit.

The stolen property was recovered and returned to the store.

The officers arrested the suspect and booked him at Orange County Jail on grand theft and resisting arrest charges.
