Jessica Lynn Gallegosparrilla, a 32-year-old woman, was charged on Thursday with using a “vicious dog” to attack a child in Fountain Valley.

Gallegosparrilla was charged with mayhem, child abuse and endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon, all felonies. The criminal complaint alleges the deadly weapon was a “vicious dog.”

Gallegosparrilla was accused of attacking the child on June 1, and she was arrested on Tuesday.

She is being held on $100,000 bail.

The criminal complaint does not disclose the relationship, if any, between Gallegosparrilla and the child who was injured.

Gallegosparrilla pleaded not guilty at her arraignment in a jail courtroom in Santa Ana and will return to court on June 16 for a pretrial hearing at the West Justice Center in Westminster.

The Fountain Valley Police Department and the prosecutors have not provided any additional information to the media.
