Last weekend, a deputy from the O.C. Sheriff’s Lake Forest Police Services Department conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle and determined the driver was possibly involved in drug trafficking activity.

K9 Mac responded to assist with a narcotics sniff and alerted to an area inside the passenger compartment. Deputies later found a hidden compartment with a large amount of illegal narcotics.

As a result of the traffic stop, deputies seized two large packages of suspected heroin, fentanyl, and narcotic related currency.

In total, over 2.4 kilos of these extremely dangerous drugs were taken off of our streets.

This was a great example of teamwork and investigative experience, leading to the seizure of these drugs without any prior information relating this vehicle to drug trafficking activity.

The driver was arrested on multiple felony charges.
