On July 3rd, 2023, at 12:49 P.M., the Santa Ana Police Department received a call for service related to a traffic collision at 200 North Ross Street. When officers arrived, they discovered the collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. Orange County Fire Authority also responded to the scene, declaring the pedestrian deceased.

Based upon the preliminary investigation, it is believed that the pedestrian was crossing Ross St. when a vehicle traveling north on Ross St. collided with the pedestrian. The vehicle involved in this collision remained at the scene, and the driver cooperated. Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in this collision. However, the cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigations Unit (CIU) is handling the investigation. Anyone possibly having information about this collision is asked to contact Investigator L. Bao at 714- 245-8223 or the Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division at (714) 245-8200.
