On June 6, 2023, at 10:53 P.M., the Santa Ana Police Department received multiple calls regarding a pedestrian down in traffic lanes in the 2400 block of West Edinger Ave. Officers from the Santa Ana Police Department responded to the scene, where they located the pedestrian in the roadway. Orange County Fire Authority also responded to the scene, declaring the pedestrian deceased.

Based upon the preliminary investigation, it is believed that the pedestrian was crossing Edinger Ave. when a vehicle traveling east on Edinger Ave. collided with the pedestrian. The vehicle involved in this collision remained at the scene, and the driver cooperated. Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in this collision. However, the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
