A motorcyclist died on Tuesday night after a collision with a pickup truck in Garden Grove.

The collision occurred after 8 p.m., when a man on a motorcycle that was heading eastbound on Chapman through the Knott intersection collided with a pickup truck that was turning left from westbound Chapman to southbound Knott.

OCFA paramedics and Garden Grove police officers responded to the scene at 8:26 p.m. The paramedics took the motorcyclist, a 56-year-old Garden Grove resident, to a local hospital where he died after sustaining severe injuries in the crash.

Garden Grove’s Neighborhood Traffic Unit is leading the investigation of the collision. Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the collision according to the Garden Grove Police.
