Police in Garden Grove fatally shot one suspect while responding to a report of a domestic dispute on Tuesday, Sept. 18, according to the O.C. Register.

When Garden Grove police officers responded to calls about a woman in distress, at the parking lot of a Ralph’s grocery store located at 12051 Euclid St., near Chapman Ave., they found a 46-year-old man attacking a 43-year-old woman inside a silver Hyundai Sonata.

Apparently the male suspect was strangling his wife and the police were unable to compel him to stop, so they shot him.

The suspect was treated at the scene by the police officers until paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:38 p.m., according to the Garden Grove police department.

The woman was taken to another hospital with what turned out to be minor injuries.

The incident is being reviewed by the OCDA and the Garden Grove Police department.

The police did not identify the suspect or the woman.
