On November 24, 2023, Fountain Valley police officers responded to the scene of Edinger and Newhope regarding a possible stabbing.

Police officers who arrived at the scene located a male victim who was suffering from stabbing wounds and they began to render first aid.

The police officers also detained a male suspect at the scene, David MacDonald, a 23-year-old Huntington Beach resident.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

MacDonald was arrested and booked on one count of PC 187 (a), murder.

The victim’s name is not being released pending notification of his kin.

This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no current threat to the public.

The investigation into this incident remains active. No further details will be released at this time.
