On Nov. 10, 2023, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Fountain Valley police officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Newhope Street at Heil Ave.

A white Infinit G37 sedan was traveling southbound on Newhope St. when it collided with a blue Mercedes C300 sedan that was turning left from northbound Newhope St. to westbound Heil Ave.

The impact caused the white sedan to hit the southwest corner street light pole, resulting in the vehicle being split in half.

Tragically the rear passenger of the white sedan, a 6-year-old girl from Anaheim, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the white sedan and the Mercedes driver were both transported to UCI Hospital with injuries deemed to be non-life-threatening.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Any witnesses to the collision are encouraged to contact the Fountain Valley Police Department’s Traffic Bureau at 714-593-4481. The incident number is #23-38850.
