The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning, which will be in effect from 1:00 am to 10:00 pm Tomorrow, Friday, January 27, 2017.
Winds of 25 to 40 MPH with gusts of up to 70 MPH are expected late tonight through Friday evening. These winds should slow to 20 to 30 MPH, with gusts of up to 50 MPH Friday night through at least Saturday.
Winds this strong may bring down trees and power lines, which could lead to property damage. Strong winds can also make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
A high wind warning means that damaging high winds of 58 MPH or greater are likely or imminent. Please secure all loose outdoor furniture in advance of the onset of strong winds. Be sure to monitor the latest forecasts on NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite media source.
If you experience any issues with fallen or broken trees in the public right-of-way, please contact the Public Works Agency’s Maintenance and Repair dispatch line at (714) 647-3380 during normal operating hours or the Emergency After-Hours dispatch line at (714) 834-4211 outside of normal operating hours. For emergencies, please dial 9-1-1.
