Early this morning, two people attempted to steal a motorcycle at an apartment community in the area of Irvine Center Drive and Spectrum, in Irvine.

After cutting a security lock off the motorcycle, the two men fled when a witness drove by. The witness called the Irvine Police Dept. and provided excellent descriptions of the men and their van.

Irvine police officers found the vehicle leaving the area and stopped it. Inside the vehicle were two suspects.

Bryan Gregory Santoro, 45, of Mission Viejo, had a felony arrest warrant and a motorcycle helmet.

Santoro and Robert Kenneth Halkens, 48, of Mission Viejo, were arrested and booked at Orange County Jail for attempted vehicle theft, vehicle tampering, burglary, and conspiracy.

The Irvine Police Dept. offers their thanks to the witness for calling them and helping to stop the theft of a motorcycle!
