In June, police officers at the Irvine Spectrum investigated a $1,000 theft from a store. On Saturday, officers learned the vehicle involved in that crime was visiting Spectrum again, according to the Irvine Police Department.

The police officers partnered with security guards and located two vehicle occupants walking near Spectrum and Pacifica.

The pair were observed tossing merchandise in the bushes before the police officers contacted them. The merchandise was a pair of Prada sunglasses, later determined to have been stolen from a business.

Carlos Aldaco, 30, of Los Angeles, was booked for warrants and suspicion of burglary for the cases on Saturday and June. Andrews Francisco Catalan, 25, of Lynwood, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and outstanding warrants.

Committing these crimes in Irvine was a big mistake for these men. The OCDA will prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law unlike his counterpart in L.A. County.
