Santa Ana Police Department Advisory: Request public’s assistance in arson investigation
On 8-13-13 at about 0745 hours, Santa Ana Police Detectives investigating a series of arsons arrested Tommy Wayne Burke, age 43, in the 100 block of North Sullivan for violating the conditions of his parole. Burke, a registered arson offender, is a person of interest and is not being charged for this case at this time. Burke was released from prison in May of 2013 after being convicted for starting several dumpster fires in 2010.
Orange County Fire Authority Arson Investigators and Santa Ana Police Detectives are still investigating a series of 11 arson fires at nine locations, starting on August 4th and the latest arson occurring on August 12th. All these arsons were set in the 100 to 500 block of North Sullivan. Orange County Fire Authority Arson Investigators and Santa Ana Police Detectives are asking for the public’s help.
