The SAPD is looking for a hate crime suspect who stole a residents Mexican flag and flagpole

Police detectives are working to identify and locate a suspect wanted for a hate crime, according to the SAPD.

On two separate occasions, the suspect entered the victim’s front yard, removed the victim’s Mexican flag and flagpole, and left the property with the stolen items.

On one occasion, the suspect left a note advising the victim to stop flying her Mexican flag. The victim also discovered that her cinderblock wall had been spray-painted with the letters “USA.”

The suspect was last seen in the area of 1st St. and Jackson St.
