On Thursday night, Huntington Beach police officers responded to a call for service at Heil Ave. and Graham St., where a car was driving recklessly, even running red lights.

Two police officers found the vehicle and chased it with support from the police helicopter, HB1. Additional officers blocked intersections to keep everyone safe.

After a short while, the driver stopped, but as he exited the car, he changed his mind and tried to get back in.

With the help of K9-Nacho, the officers eventually were able to arrest the driver. They found that he was drunk and had illegal drugs in his possession.

The Huntington Beach Police Department thanks the citizen who reported this, as it might have prevented harm to innocent people on the road. The vigilance is appreciated.
