The Garden Grove Police are conducting a DUI/Driver License Checkpoint on August 16

The Garden Grove Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver License Checkpoint Friday, August 16, 2024, from 9:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.

The Garden Grove P.D. is dedicating this DUI Checkpoint to Janet Carrillo, a a 40-year-old Garden Grove mother whose life was lost last Mother’s Day when a drunk driver named Jadir Salazar Montano crashed into her house at around 2 a.m. Carillo was pronounced dead at the scene after she was trapped by the car that smashed into her home.

Janet Carrillo went to sleep next to her husband, the love of her life, excited about the big family celebration the next day. Tragically, her day of celebration was destroyed by an impaired driver when her life was taken. Driving under the influence can have deadly consequences.

The Garde Grove P.D. hopes that her story will save a life.
