For the past several months, Garden Grove police detectives have been conducting an investigation into a possible sexual predator. The initial report indicated the suspect, Eric Andrew Carino, contacted the juvenile victim through a popular social media platform.

He requested to meet the victim to engage in sexual relations, knowing she was underage. The victim initially agreed to meet Carino, but upon meeting, requested to be taken home. He ignored her request, took her to his residence where he sexually assaulted her, then drove her home and immediately blocked her on social media.

During the investigation, the victim identified Carino as the suspect. He has also been linked to an additional 2021 sexual assault case in Orange County.

Today at 12:04 PM, Detectives took Carino into custody. During the service of a search warrant at his home, additional corroborating evidence was located.

This investigation is on-going. If you were a victim or know of someone who may have been a victim of Carino’s, please contact Det. Nikolic at 714-741-5877 or adamn@ggcity.org.
