An SAPD K-9 dog apparently bit a homeless man early this morning, just before 12:30 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.

The SAPD reported that the K-( and his handler stopped at 500 West Rowland Ave., so the K-9 could take a pottie break.  But there were two transients there, at an encampment.  Things escalated quickly.

The K-9 attack on the homeless man was labeled an “accident” by the SAPD.  The police spokesman, Cmdr. Phil Craft, said that the encampment was “where they weren’t supposed to be.”   Where exactly are homeless encampments supposed to be?

When you have to go, you have to go…

The police did not make clear what prompted the dog bite.  The homeless man was taken to a local hospital with what are said to be minor injuries.

If your dog bites someone the SAPD will force you to pay for a rabies test and your dog will be confiscated and quite possibly put to death.
