Santa Ana Crime Scene

Today is St. Patrick’s Day and a Santa Ana father apparently chose to celebrate it by allegedly “attempting to stab his son before fleeing his home and leading police on a short pursuit before being subdued and taken into custody,” according to the O.C. Register.

The purported stabber is a man in his 50’s and the incident happened at the 400 block of East Central Avenue.

The father took off but was chased and arrested while the young man was still at his house.  Apparently the man led police on a brief chase that ended back at his house, where he stubbornly stayed in his car for soem 20 minutes.  He finally made a break for his home but was caught by the police who used a stun gun to take him down.

The names of the father and his son are being withheld for now by the SAPD.

This incident occured in Ward 1, which is represented on the City Council by Mayor Pro Tem Vince Sarmiento.
