SANTA ANA – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) is proud to participate in the 14th Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration this Sunday, May 5, 2013, starting at 11:00 a.m. This family festival will be held in downtown Santa Ana on 4th Street between Main Street and French Street.
The City of Santa Ana and MX LIVE Entertainment are hosting this year’s “Calle Cuatro” Cinco de Mayo Celebration that will run tomorrow and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The festival is in honor of Mexican heritage and pride and will feature live music and performances, games, prizes, carnival rides, food, art and culture vendors, and exhibitors from local businesses, government, and law enforcement agencies. Each year, over 150,000 people attend the festivities. The festival is free and open to the public.
In order to encourage community participation in law enforcement and community awareness regarding public safety, the OCDA Government and Community Relations Unit will host a booth near the corner of Spurgeon Street and 4th Street. The OCDA will speak with visitors and hand out information in English and Spanish. The resource materials will cover information regarding victims’ rights, crime prevention, the criminal justice system, the negative consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, identity theft, and domestic violence.
