On Saturday, March 8, 2025, at about 9:56 a.m., Orange County Sheriff deputies assigned to San Clemente Police Services responded to the 100 block of W. Escalones in San Clemente regarding a male who was stabbed.
Upon their arrival, the deputies located a teenage male victim with stab wounds to his abdomen and arm.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An adult male suspect appeared to have stabbed the victim during the commission of a robbery and fled from the scene prior to the arrival of deputies.
The OC Sheriff South Gang Enforcement Team conducted an investigation and located the suspect, identified as Miguel Angel Huertas, 25 years old.
Huertas was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail on attempted murder charges.
