The Irvine Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a male suspect who allegedly took a bag and backpack from a vehicle on New Year’s Eve in the residential area off of Kelvin.

The suspect later used the victim’s credit cards to make purchases in Santa Ana. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sampson at 949-724-7270 or jsampson@cityofirvine.org.

The Irvine Police Department reminds us to remember to always lock your car doors and never leave anything in plain view inside your vehicle. Irvine is a safe city, but thefts from vehicles are the most common crime in Irvine; every year more than a thousand thefts from vehicles are reported to Irvine PD.
