Last night, Fountain Valley police officers responded to a call of suicidal threats. The investigation revealed that a male subject repeatedly called his ex-girlfriend, in violation of a restraining order, and threatened to overdose on prescription pills. The subject was known to have firearms, based upon previous law enforcement contact.

Officers located the subject driving through the ex-girlfriend’s neighborhood and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The subject was uncooperative and refused to exit. After a brief stand off, he was taken into custody and transported to the hospital where he was treated for the possible overdose.

The subject was ultimately placed on a 5150 hold for psychological evaluation, with criminal charges requested for violating a restraining order, resisting officers, and driving under the influence of drugs
