Fire at South Linda Way in Santa Ana

Residents and their dog safely escaped a quickly-spreading fire in their home on South Linda Way in Santa Ana on the evening of Dec. 25 – Christmas Day, according to the OCFA.

The firefighters knocked down the fire and assessed one person for possible smoke inhalation, who declined transportation to a hospital.

Costa Mesa Fire and Rescue, the Santa Ana Police Department, and SoCal Red Cross provided assistance, and neighbors provided a video to the OCFA.

The OCFA is happy that the family safely escaped.

Here are some tips to help you prepare a home escape plan:

  • Create a home escape plan and practice escaping your home with your family in two minutes or less.
  • Draw a floor plan of your entire house showing all doors and windows.
  • Identify two ways out of every room.
  • Establish a meeting place outside the home.
  • Always sleep with bedroom doors closed.
