SAPD gang detectives were conducting gang suppression in the area of 1500 N. French St. when they observed a group of suspects who were loitering.

For some reason Santa Ana gangbangers insist on loitering in groups, which makes it easy for the SAPD to bust them. Perhaps the gangbangers have nothing better to do?

Sure enough when the SAPD detectives attempted to make contact with the group of loiterers they acted as expected and ran for the hills.

However, the SAPD detectives were able to chase them down and they were all detained without incident.

One of the suspects had the bright idea of trying to get rid of a handgun during the police pursuit. As usual that plan did not work! The detectives were able to retrieve the loaded firearm.

Two of the suspects ended up getting booked at the O.C. Juvenile Hall for firarem-related violations with gang enhancements.

In another recent incident SAPD gang detectives were conducing gang suppression in the area of 100 S. Standard when they observed more loitering gang bangers.

When the police detectives made contact with the loitering gangbangers one of the suspects, of course, tried to get rid of a loaded firearm. He was detained without incident and the gun was recovered.

The suspect was booked at the Santa Ana Jail for several firearm-related violations with gang enhancements.

Every time the SAPD arrests an armed gangbanger they are potentially preventing more deaths!
