SANTA ANA, Calif. (June 4, 2024)—Santa Ana Police Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was shot and killed.
 
On Monday, June 3, 2024, at approximately 6:42 p.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received a report of a shooting in the area of 1100 S. Poplar Street.

SAPD Officers and personnel from the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to the scene and located an adult male lying on the ground, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  OCFA treated the victim and transported him to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.  
 
The Orange County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Angel Junior Vuelvas (19) of Santa Ana. The circumstances surrounding this homicide are currently being investigated.
 
Detectives are attempting to identify and locate any witnesses who can shed light on this incident.  Anyone with information is asked to call SAPD Homicide Section Detectives at (714) 245-8390 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.  This case is eligible for the Gang Reward Program.
