A man in his 20’s was shot and killed while sitting in a car in a south Anaheim neighborhood on Sunday night, Dec. 8, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Police officers responded to the 2065 block of South Margie Lane just before 8:45 p.m. and found a 25-year-old Anaheim man, Kenneth Wayne Swets, unresponsive inside a vehicle. Mr. Swets suffered from several gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Anaheim Police do not have any suspects yet and have also not found any witnesses.
OnScene TV video shows police investigating near a dark-colored sedan parallel parked along the street with several yellow evidence markers on the ground outside the driver’s side and rear of the car.
The police are not sure whether the car belonged to the victim.
The police also do not know if the victim was a gang member. However, the neighborhood where the victim was shot is not considered to be a gang neighborhood and is usually quiet, according to the police.
Detectives are not disclosing any additional details at this time because the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about Mr. Swets or the circumstances surrounding his death to contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
