The Orange County Coroner’s Office has identified John Hillig of Santa Ana, a 67-year-old man, as the victim of a fatal car crash that happened in Fountain Valley on Nov. 11.

The crash was reported at about 12:12 p.m. Hillig was driving a Chrysler PT Cruiser when he was involved in a minor collision near Edinger Ave., as he drove slowly going north on Harbor Blvd.

Witnesses called 911 to report that a man was slumped over the steering wheel of the vehicle moments before the crash according to the Johnson Attorneys Group.

Hillig was rushed to Fountain Valley Regional Hosplital, where he later died of his injuries.

The cause of Hillig’s death remains unknown. Police investigators are trying to figure out if it was due to the crash or something else.
