Garden Grove police officers found a man inside a van, suffering from a bullet would, on Tuesday, Sep. 12, at around 7 p.m., at a Vons parking lot at the corner of Haster Street and Chapman Ave.

The victim was a 51-year-old Garden Grove resident. He had been in an altercation with the suspect prior to the shooting, according to the Garden Grove Police Dept..

The victim was taken to UCI Medical Center and is expected to survive.

The shooter fled from the area and authorities were continuing their search into the night as police officers continued the search. The police have not released a description of the shooter.
