On 7/21/23, at 9:03 a.m., Orange police officers responded to a residence at the 400 block of east Chestnut regarding a male adult armed with a knife and acting erratic.

The police officers arrived and encountered a male adult armed with a knife. The suspect, 26-year-old Desmond Kisaka, was subdued and detained by officers. Officers located a male adult identified as a roommate with stab wounds in the residence.

The 47-year-old male victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper body and later died at a local hospital.

This was an isolated incident and the investigation into the motive is still ongoing. Desmond Kisaka was booked at Orange County Jail for murder.
