A felon was arrested again in North OC on vandalism gun and drug charges

Yesterday afternoon, detectives from the Fullerton Police Department conducted a follow-up investigation related to an incident involving an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred two weeks ago.

During their investigation, the detectives not only identified and located the suspect but also discovered several firearms, replica firearms, cash, narcotics packaging, and over eight pounds of methamphetamine.

The suspect has been booked on multiple charges, including vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of drugs and firearms by a felon.

Additionally, the detectives successfully secured a bail increase of one million dollars.

California penalties for felons facing vandalism, gun and drug charges

In California, a felon facing new charges for vandalism, gun, and drug offenses can face severe penalties. Here’s a breakdown of potential consequences for each charge:

Vandalism

Misdemeanor: If the damage is less than $400, penalties can include up to 1 year in county jail and fines up to $1,000.
Felony: If the damage exceeds $400, penalties can include 16 months, 2 years, or 3 years in state prison and fines up to $10,000.

Gun Charges

Possession of a Firearm by a Felon: This is a felony offense in California, punishable by 16 months, 2 years, or 3 years in state prison.

Drug Charges

Possession of Controlled Substances: Penalties vary based on the type and amount of drugs, but can include imprisonment, fines, and mandatory drug treatment programs.

Given the combination of these charges and the fact that the individual is a repeat offender, the penalties could be even more severe.
