At 1:21 a.m. on October 16, 2025, Battalion 6, Truck 63, Medic 65, and Engine 65 responded to a Single Vehicle traffic collision and Heavy Rescue at MacArthur Blvd and East Coast Hwy., according to the Newport Beach Fire Department.

The driver was apparently traveling southbound on MacArthur to East Coast Hwy and appeared to cut the turn and hit the center divider. The vehicle seemed to have then flipped multiple times before landing on its driver’s side.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage and vehicle debris was scattered throughout the scene.

Local businesses sustained some damage from the debris, including Golden Spoon, the Bungalow, and El Ranchito.

The patient was extricated and transported to Mission Hospital by NM65.

The Building Department was notified and NBPD notified the affected business owners.

The cause of the incident is under investigation at this time.
