I have been following the Santa Ana Problems Facebook page for awhile and I noticed that their likes have really taken off this month. They now have 21,517 likes and their activity has really heated up. They currently have 49,671 people “talking about them.” Our own Facebook page has 400 likes, by comparison.
What I love about Santa Ana Problems is that it depicts, warts and all, what living in Santa Ana is like – particularly for those who don’t happen to live in the nicer parts of town.
The page definitely skews younger – primarily in the 18 to 24 year-old age group according to their own metrics.
On a daily basis they pose funny and sometimes historical pictures of what living in Santa Ana is like. Their commentary can be very funny and sometimes it can be inadvertently poignant, such as the recent spate of “confessions” which gave us a glimpse at what some of our city’s young people have gone through – particularly some of the young ladies who had kids at a very early age and were sometimes saddled with non-productive men.
Check out “Santa Ana Problems” here. And don’t be a prude. They push boundaries at times but the page is entertaining and it offers a unique look at Orange County’s downtown, warts and all.
They should do a post on why the City Of Santa Ana is hosting a “Fourth Of July” fireworks show on June 30?
WTF?
Michele, David, Vince, Roman put out posts promoting this. has something changed I don’t know about.
The Christmas parade is being moved to October 12?
What frosted me is the city didn’t send me this info. What are they hiding? Could it be the fact that Lupe Moreno, a Minuteman, is still on the city’s 4th of July Planning Committee?
By now you should know that the only way to get reliable iformation about the goings on is to subscribe to David (not Pablo’s, that ones private) Benavides and Michele Martinez Facebook pages.
That’s a hell of a way to let the SUNSHINE in.
holy crap, I can’t believe you guys wrote about this.. Thanks for the love. How about an interview with the admin/creator? lol ~Honey
We love all things Santa Ana and you guys are now part of our city’s social fabric.
I’ll contact you via email to set up an interview.
Keep up the good work!
