A hit and run driver who caused a fatal car accident on the 55 Freeway last Saturday afternoon, at about 2:25 p.m., is now being sought by the CHP, according to the O.C. Register.

The suspect was behind the wheel of a white sedan, headed south on the 55 Freeway, when he cut off a 2015 Mazda 6, causing that driver to swerve and crash into the side of a 2010 Toyota Sienna. The Toyota then careened into a 2017 Honda Pilot which went on to slam into a center divider. That Toyota also hit the center divider and proceeded to roll over several times.

Seon Ho Choi, 69, of Apple Valley, who was a passenger in the Toyota, was killed in the crash, according to the OC Coroner.

Dae Yung Choi, 73, of Apple Valley, the driver of the Toyota, was hospitalized, however the other motorists fortunately escaped injury, according to the CHP.

The CHP is asking for help from the public in tracking down the hit-and-run driver who started the chain reaction accident on Saturday. If you have any information please call the CHP at (714) 567-6000.
