Survey – are SAPD cops really worse than local gangbangers?

Protesters marched on McFadden Street last night in opposition to the SAPD and the OCDA’s gang injunction in the Townsend Street neighborhood.

The SAPD did themselves no favors when they recently raided and tried to destroy an unlicensed medical marijuana dispensary. The cops on that raid helped themselves to marijuana edibles and said awful things about an amputee – not realizing that they were being videotaped.

The bad cops and the Santa Ana Police Officer’s Association filed a lawsuit last week in Orange County Superior seeking to prevent Santa Ana police internal affairs investigators from using a hidden camera video from a May 26 raid at Sky High Collective to determine if department policies were violated, according to the O.C. GANG MEMBER ON PROBATION CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF FIREARM AFTER EVADING POLICE IN ENJOINED GANG NEIGHBORHOOD

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A gang member on probation was charged today by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) with possession of a firearm after evading police in an enjoined gang neighborhood on Townsend Street in Santa Ana. He was alsoinvolved in an officer-involved shooting (OIS) in relation to this case. Armando Antunez, 24, Santa Ana, is charged with one felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon, one felony count of possession of a firearm by a probationer, one felony count of possession of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school, one felony count of street terrorism, and a sentencing enhancement for criminal street gang activity. Armando Antunez has a prior strike conviction for Case #14CF0791. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 19 years in state prison. The People will request he be held on $200,000 bail in this case and is subject to a no-bail probation violation hold. Armando Antunez is expected to be arraignedat a later date and the time is to be determined.

Man convicted of killing a 14-year old in Jerome Park

Armando Carachure

Armando Carachure, 27, a member of the Townsend Street gang in Santa Ana was sentenced Friday by Orange County Superior Court Judge Kimberly Menninger, to life in prison for stabbing a 14-year-old rival, Fidel Armando Guajardo, to death during a confrontation at Jerome Park on June 21, 2013, according to the O.C. Register.

Guajardo was a member of a street gang that was allied with another gang that had a “loose rivalry” with Carachure’s gang.

Armando Carachure and a 12-year-old boy in his gang approached Guajardo and asked what gang he was affiliated with, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, as reporetd by My News LA. Continue reading→
